The norwegian horror weekend

When i find myself in times of trouble..  I take great comfort in the nature. Even God has cried all weekend, the rain has been unstoppable.  I needed to get away from the TV a little, get the terror on a safe distance for a short while. And trying to find beauty again. And this is what I have found:
Fuchsia flowering on my balcony

A rock pipit (skjærpiplerke)

A wet oyster catcher (tjeld)

A little seagull chick hiding in the wet grass

A dunlin (Myrsnipe)

A young red-necked phalarope (svømmesnipe)

A little stint (dvergsnipe)

A very wet dunlin

A young wagtail (linerle)

Not any of these pictures can make up for the terror, I know that. But it is my way of coping, staying sane. And finding beauty even after these tragic events. I also know I am lucky, having the biggest treasure of my life safe in Skien. As a mother I can try to understand the grief of the victims parents, but I do not think it is possible for anybody to fully imagine the deep sorrow and grief they are going through. My warmest condolances goes to all the victims and their relatives.

Trip to the beach

This weekend has been rather wet, but today we went to the beach. Thea, the dog, loved it, bud eat half the sand there, bet she had a rather dry throat afterwards. But we had fun.
Not so many birds there yet, but there was a big group of artic ternes.

Rainy weekend in Stavanger

Nobody can say summer is here, because it is mainly raining and cloudy all the time. But yesterday was OK, a couple of hours, before the heavy rain started. And today was grey and wet, but nice for photographing.
Enjoy my new pictures. Have tried to be more adventurous, don't know how well I have succeeded.

Sun has turned...

The sun has turned and days are getting shorter..but do we sit and sulk? No, we go out and take more pictures, trying to follow the little chicks we´ve seen as tiny little ones, getting bigger.
Here are samples from the weekend:
A little coot (sothøne), reflecting in the water

My daughters lovely little dog Thea, visiting. Must be the most patient dog in the world

The swans did not like the dog, but thought this angle was  very nice, with the drops of water..

A black headed gull (hettemåke), born earlier this spring, now looking and behaving like one = lot of noice!

A grebe (toppdykker) chick, getting big. But still with the zebra stripes and not the golden colours of the parents.

A headed crow (kråke)

A common pochard(taffeland)

Shelduck (gravand)

Jack Daw (Kaie)

Same Jack Daw (kaie)

Thea at the beach

A northern wheatear (steinskvett)

A young common whitethroat (Tornsanger)
That was opur weekend, if I am mistaken in my bird knowledge, please enlighten me!
