Sunday 15.april

Today has been a typical April day, with all sorts of weather, rain, hale, sun and all the time the biting cold wind from the north. But I went down to Mosvannet, to see what i could find, and at least i managed to get some good shots of one of my favorite birds, the great crested grebe (toppdykker)

Just 100 metres from where my daughter lives, there is a wood...and I found all these birds there in just 30 minutes!

This is a greater spotted woodpecker. Awsome when he looks straight into the camera.

I tried to use the soundeffects on my phone to attract this one..and it worked! A nuthatch made my day.

2 Canary islands, EL Hierro and La Palma

Others go on study trips and returns with a lot of pictures of the other participants...I only have pictures of birds and nature...

First Sunday in March

I went down to Mosvannet, a little lake in Stavanger. Was most interested in the small birds, and they led me to this beaty: a lesser spotted woodpecker! (Dvergspett)

Isn´t it beatiful?

Birds have started to sing now, and I found the little siskins (sisik) in the tree tops

And of course, the lovely chaffinch (bokfink)

One of my favorites, the grebe (toppdykker) I am not sure if she is just young or if she still has her winter suit on and therefore is so much whiter than him.

Then I found this one, another pecker. I think it is still the lesser spotted one, even if I spotted it :-)

And then she took off... but what a lovely Sunday walk!

Last weekend

Saturday started with the gardenbirds, and the visit of a robin nr 2, so there was a territorial war going on

The lovely yellowhammers were quiet bystanders.
